Jokowi issue Promises Referendum Papua Never Considered Trivial
JAKARTA - Constitutional Law Expert, Margarito Thursday urged President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) immediately clarify issues that alleged that he promised a referendum on Papuan people.
The problem according to Margarito, very serious and can not be considered the wind and by a president.
"Pak Jokowi indeed many promises were not fulfilled. But the issue of appointments to a referendum for Papua, I think it is too far. Therefore Jokowi must immediately react because this is a very important issue and not just the usual campaign promises," said Margarito when contacted Thursday (23/7).
According to Margarito, this issue re-emerged associated with continued volatility in Papua. In fact, he said, this issue has long been circulating since last 2014 presidential election campaign and returned hotly discussed because Tolikara incident.
Further Margarito insisted he was not convinced that Jokowi has given promise a referendum for the people of Papua. But, he asked Jokowi openly explain it so as not to be a wild issue. "The president should explain, do not
make noise and talk with the people of Indonesia," he said. Conversely said Margarito, if correctly Jokowi later proven to make a promise like that, then Jokowi tantamount to dig his own grave because it is contrary to the Constitution 45 and as president Jokowi should understand that the Homeland fixed price.
"If he gives the promise like this, he dug his own grave. All parties will fight it. Not only Parliament, but also the people of Indonesia and the military who have an obligation to maintain the integrity of the Homeland," he concluded. (Fas / JPNN)
